The Doctor Is In!
Tips for managing the necessary, easy-to-complete, annual gutter checkup routine

You have gutters installed on your home, congratulations! You’re a step ahead on the home protection front. But did you know there’s a little work to be done after your gutters are installed? Industry professionals recommends you have your gutters inspected at least two times a year; more often if you live in a wooded area or suspect any seam splitting, rusting, or other damage.
The crew at Rainman Seamless Rain Gutters will do your gutter inspections for you. Contact us to schedule a gutter inspection and know that the professionals are making sure your gutters are in ideal working order. To meet industry standard, think Spring cleaning and Fall cleanup and schedule your appointment in advance.
If you’re a do-it-yourself type of person, we get that. Here are a few tips to the annual homeowner’s gutter protection and home safety routine:
1.Remove debris and clutter. You’ll need a ladder and a spotter – someone who can stand nearby as a precaution.
2.Look for cracks, rusting, and loose screws. Note issue areas. The spikes or hangars that hold the gutters to your roof can become loose and may need to be re-secured or even replaced.
3.Test for leaks and slow spots. With your spotter, use a bucket or hose to pour water into your gutter lines and watch how it flows. Any leaks? Any overflow areas?
4.Be sure to look at your downspouts to assess how much water is making its way completely out of your gutter system. If you only see a trickle of water, you need to clear debris from the joints and downspouts.
5.Take a good look at the space between your gutter line and the nearest wall. Does any water make its way back there? Do you notice any mold or mildew? If so, you likely have a leak. Reassess the seams, joints, and fasteners. If necessary, remove decaying sealant and apply a new layer.
6.Call in the professionals (us!) if you find major dents, holes, cracks, or missing parts.
Rainman Seamless Rain Gutters is here for you. The best gutters are those that allow water to flow smoothly and cleanly and are leak free!
