📋 General Questions
What are seamless rain gutters and why are they better than sectional gutters?
- Seamless rain gutters are custom-fit gutter systems made from a single continuous piece of material—usually aluminum, steel, or copper—without any joints or seams along the length. Because they’re cut on-site to match your home’s exact dimensions, they greatly reduce the risk of leaks, clogs, and sagging compared to traditional sectional gutters. The result is a cleaner look, better water flow, and less maintenance over time.
What materials do you use for gutters?
- We offer seamless gutters in aluminum, steel, and copper, with options including half-round and box gutter styles. Choose from over 50 custom colors and pair your system with 2x3", 3x4", or 3" round downspouts—or opt for a decorative rain chain for added curb appeal.
Does Rainman offer free estimates? What is the typical process?
- We offer free estimates and meet with you on-site to assess your needs. Our team uses iPads to take photos of your home and mark them up directly, helping you visualize the best gutter placement and style before we custom-fabricate your seamless system.
Is installation local, and how long have you served Spokane & North Idaho?
- Proudly serving Spokane and North Idaho since 1992, Rainman is a family-owned and operated business with a local team bringing over 100 years of combined experience in seamless gutter installation.
What warranties and guarantees do you offer?
- Every Rainman gutter system is backed by our Seamless Warranty, which includes a lifetime warranty on workmanship, a 20-year material warranty, and a 10-year warranty on all end-corners. It’s long-term protection you can count on.
🔧 Services & Add‑Ons
What is the Leaf Defier gutter protection system?
- Leaf Defier is a sealed gutter protection system designed to keep your gutters clear and flowing—even in areas with heavy leaves or pine needles. It helps prevent birds and bees from nesting in your gutters, keeps water moving freely, and installs without disturbing your roofing—no lifting or altering of shingles required.
Do you install rain chains? What styles are available?
- Yes, we install rain chains as a stylish and functional alternative to traditional downspouts. Available in over 150 designs from RainChains.com, many come with a lifetime warranty. We offer custom lengths to suit your home, and cup-style rain chains are especially effective at guiding water downward while adding a decorative touch to your exterior.
Can you install and maintain heat cables and snow breaks for winter protection?
- Yes, we install snow breaks on most metal roofs and offer heat cable installation for roofs, gutters, and downspouts to help prevent ice dams and winter water damage. Please note: while we handle the physical installation, we do not provide any electrical work, as we are not licensed electricians.
Do you provide rainwater harvesting systems?
- While we don’t stock rainwater collection systems due to the wide variety of styles available, we can connect your gutters to almost any setup. We recommend that homeowners purchase the system they prefer and have it placed and ready at the time of installation. Our team will ensure proper water direction and integration with your new gutter system.
What is flashing, and why is it important for gutters?
- Flashing is a thin piece of metal installed between the roof and the gutter to help direct water properly into the gutter system. Without proper flashing, water can still reach and damage your fascia boards. We use longer 2” flashing, which not only provides better protection but also allows for a stronger pitch when installing your rain gutters—improving overall performance and drainage.
🛠️ Maintenance & Repairs
How often should I have my gutters cleaned or inspected?
- We recommend cleaning and inspecting your gutters at least twice a year—typically in the spring and fall. However, your specific schedule may vary depending on your landscape. Homes surrounded by pine trees or heavy foliage may need more frequent maintenance to prevent clogs and ensure proper drainage.
Do you offer gutter cleaning and repair services?
- We do not provide gutter cleaning or general repair services. For repairs outside of our warranty coverage that don’t require new gutter material, we typically recommend hiring a handyman service, as this is often a more cost-effective option than using a full gutter installation team.
What are signs I need gutter maintenance or repairs?
- Common signs include sagging or pulling gutters, visible leaks, water pooling near your foundation, peeling or damaged paint, and gutters that overflow during rain. You might also notice water in your basement or crawlspace, which can indicate serious drainage problems that need immediate attention.
Can gutter guards eliminate the need for cleaning?
- While gutter guards significantly reduce debris buildup and help keep gutters functioning smoothly, they do not completely eliminate the need for regular inspection and maintenance. All gutter guards require some upkeep to prevent clogging and ensure downspouts remain clear.
💸 Cost & Value
How much will a new seamless gutter system cost?
- The cost of a seamless gutter system varies widely depending on several factors, including your home’s size, the materials used, the type of flashing required, and the roof’s pitch. While the price of the gutter material itself remains consistent, additional needs like flashing, wedges, or special attachments can increase the total cost. Because of fluctuating material prices and the unique nature of each installation, we recommend contacting us for a personalized estimate.
Are seamless gutters a good long‑term investment?
- Absolutely! Seamless gutters reduce maintenance needs, protect your home’s foundation from water damage, and enhance curb appeal—boosting your property’s overall value for years to come.
What payment methods do you accept?
- We accept all major credit cards including American Express, Visa, MasterCard, and Discover, as well as checks and cash. For your convenience, we also offer a secure “Click to Pay” option directly on our invoices.
