Protection from the Elements
Your home is only as protective as you are proactive when it comes to changing weather patterns.

Protecting your gutters can be a time-consuming task. From the heat of the summer to the frost of winter—rain, wind, sleet, and everything else in between—your gutters must put up with a lot to keep up with their day-to-day job.
To prepare for winter, you need to remove large debris and flush the remaining bits out of the gutter system. We recommend using a hose with a spray nozzle rather than a leaf blower—water is safer in the cleaning process and will not force unwanted lifting or movement of roofing materials. The absolute best way to avoid ice damming in the winter is to clean your gutters throughout fall and then another time after the trees around your house are bare, ideally before the first snow.
Here are a few proactive ways you can protect your gutters this winter:
1.Clean your gutters, remove debris and check for leaks, clogs, or other issues.
2.Trim trees back from the roof line of the house to limit debris buildup.
3.If icicles tend to be an issue year after year, look into your attic ventilation. A lack of proper attic ventilation, debris in the gutters, and poor roof slope are a few of the common causes of gutter icicles.
Here’s how Rainman Seamless Rain Gutters can help. Contact us for installation details.
1. Leaf Defier Gutter System – With the Leaf Defier installed, water will continue to flow through the protection system, into the gutter and out through the downspout without debris to slow it down. Preventing clogged gutters with the Leaf Defier can save your home from water damage, basement leaks, rotting windows, rotting fascia board, mold, mildew and more.
2. Snow Brakes - Jack Frost isn’t far away and a row or two of snow brake on your roof could be the difference between a relaxing winter and a stressful roof or gutter repair.
3. Heat Cables – Thermwire heating cables allow you to keep the heat inside the gutters where snow and ice naturally drain. A heating cable uses thermostatic controls—that won’t overheat or run up your electric bill—to heat the inside of gutters and downspouts during cold and freezing weather.
4. Winter Gutter Installation - Here at Rainman Seamless Rain Gutters we have the tools to complete a gutter installation during the winter months. Because a gutter installation removes the entire gutter system (if one already exists) and replaces it with something new, winter installation comes at a premium. Time on the job is generally doubled during the winter months as our crew must wrestle with wind, snow, melting, and the like.
