Common Gutter Problems
It happens...but there are a few simple fixes, and a few long-term solutions, to any gutter problem.

Your roof and gutters are a vital part of your home. They both work around the clock to protect you and your family from the world outside: weather, animals, pests, and plants. In life things happen, and we can’t always anticipate why, how or when, but we can be proactive and do our best to fix problem situations when they arise. Your gutters are no exception.
1.Damaged gutters occur most often during heavy weather events where wind and/or snow causes downed trees and falling debris. A dent, crack, hole, or even a fissure in your gutters can stop them from functioning at peak performance. You can try a quick fix patch with a little duct tape, tap out the dents with a hammer, or purchase basic gutter sections to patch new sections with your existing gutter system, but none of those options will totally solve the problem. Rainman Seamless Rain Gutters recommends you call an expert for an onsite inspection. They’ll help you determine if the damage is something you can repair safely on your own without losing the functionality you need to keep your gutters working properly or if you need the team to help you remove and replace some of the damaged gutters.
2.Clutter isn’t a word we generally associate with the roof, but it is an issue that can cause major roof damage. Gutter clutter by way of dirt, sand, leaves, sticks, pest nests, or even airborne trash can adhere to your gutters making them nearly impossible to function. With a ladder (and a spotter!) you can try to scrape away any of the above with a metal scraper or spatula, but know that you’ll be putting in a lot of elbow grease! When gutter clutter calcifies, Seamless Rain Gutters recommends you remove and replace the damaged gutters.
3.Joint leaks are an issue for traditional gutter systems. They occur at the connection points or joints where one gutter connects to another or to a downspout. Leaks often develop over time due to changing temperatures, house settlement, or weather events. But Rainman Seamless Rain Gutters can help alleviate the whole gutter leak issue because new gutters from Rainman are seamless!
4.Gutters may look like they are placed evenly on the roofline from left to right by the naked eye, but they are actually installed at a slight slope. Gutters need to be sloped toward the downspouts for water to flow well. Water runs downhill, right?! Sometimes gutters aren’t installed with the proper slope for the downspouts installed. Grab a ladder after a heavy rain (when it’s safe of course!) and look in your gutters. If there’s any standing water, your slope is off. If you see this just contact the crew at Rainman Seamless Rain Gutters. They’ll make a trip out to your place to help you determine if the slope issue is a simple fix or something that requires a more substantial solution.
